Snowbasin 2/11

We did not ski here; we went to the Women's Downhill, which was delayed twice and finally postponed to 2/12. FYI there were delays 2/12 also but they finally got it going at noon. There were gusty winds up on the ridgeline near the start of the course even though it was totally calm in the spectator area near the base.

Note to Marc Guido: the late January storm covered up the yellow snow and they wisely decided not to add a new layer of it. 2/3 of the area was open to day skiers and it looked fine.

There is other evidence of less than stellar management at Snowbasin. The parking, security and shuttle buses are poorly organized and the waiting in line times are longer than at other Olympic venues. 40 minutes in a 10 degree parking lot for security check was not fun. There was an inversion; it was 20+ at the ski area, sunny and comfortable.
