Lake Louise, March 14

Toady was very similar to my first day here 3 seasons ago, with patchy cloud morning and heavily snowing afternoon. Coverage was even better than in 1999, and the the snow quality was outstanding in the backside Whitehorn and Paradise areas. There was an icy subsurface on some groomed runs in Larch and near the frontside base, probably from early season snowmaking. But 80+% of the terrain was soft or packed powder.
