The snow report said they had gotten 24-30" on top, and 8" at the base. Informal measurements with my ski pole said this was no lie. Yes it was heavy. At the bottom and in the sun, it got brutally sticky. But the upper reaches and north facing aspects stayed nice & creamy all weekend.

Another 8" on Saturday night and a bit of wind meant that just about all the tracks from Saturday were filled in, so another powder orgy was had.

All day long, both days, I was finding significant stretches of untracked snow. Every run. And the lifts were at most a 2-chair wait.

The atmosphere at Homewood is quite different than at most resorts. No high speed quads, no first chair frenzy, friendly dogs wandering about, cafeterias with reasonable prices. A refreshing change from the mega-resorts.
