Crested Butte 2/16-2/22

I skied Crested Butte from 2/16-2/22. They got 10" on 2/14 which was much needed since they hadn't received snow for about 2 weeks before that. On 2/16 and 2/17, 5" fell each night. Overall, it was still pretty rocky and bony on the Extreme Limits terrain especially on the traverses and entrances. There were also lots of hidden surprises just under the new layers of snow especailly on the steepest terrain. Overall, however, I was told by many locals that coverage this year is much better than in the last 4-5 years. And, since I've left CB they've gotten almost 2 feet of fresh with more in the forecast. Conditions should be great now and should continue to improve in the next week or so. Get there ASAP.
