Monday was typical Mammoth spring day, warm, skied in a t-shirt for several hours. Lower mountain did not freeze overnight, upper mountain was spring-like. It was my second day on tele gear, so I didn't spend much time up top.
Tuesday was overcast and windy, normal wind for Mammoth. snow was some hardpack but again, lower elevations did not freeze overnight. The storm rolled in and it started snowing about 5-6pm.
Wednesday was stormy all day, the top was never open, and I don't think 3 or 5 were open all day either. it snowed steadily all day, and I had a chance to experiment with powder on telemark gear for the first time. but the best was yet to come...
