Sunshine Village, 2/8

Sunshine was cold as I expected, about 10F, overcast with light wind. Snow quality on Lookout was excellent and most of it was groomed. As I started to chill I moved to the shorter runs on the new Standish quad to thaw out. After lunch I skied 4 runs on Goat's Eye before leaving to catch our flight home.

Goat's Eye had the conditions I had expected but did not see at Louise. There were firm areas and some traverses and moguls had sketchy coverage. There was some good off-trail snow but you had to search it out. The view of Delirium Dive revealed much lower cover than in 1999 and 2002, when it was one vast open bowl.

Tony, it sounds like you had a terrific trip -- I'm jealous! Glad to hear that Richard survived the experience.
