Well, that seemed like it took forever, but they opened today despite 86 mph winds last night. The early report stated that they'd open at noon instead of 9AM.
I got up there at 10 to do a skate ski and see if it would open as the winds were due to calm down. At 11:30 they opened Pine Martin. I was there for an early chair and found some super fun wind-stiffened powder. Coverage was great lower down, but there was some reef showing up at the top of Pine Martin.
Getting ready for Season 2009-2010!
Here we go. This is Day 9 for me, tomorrow I'm leaving for the Islands for Thanksgiving. Maybe it'll snow a bunch next week.
The temp dropped and it started to snow pretty hard.
Me and my buddy Robert enjoying the early season conditions. Hey, I thought we were going to be high and dry this season!
The Pine Martin Lodge, at the top of that lift, in rather typical Mt Bachelor conditions. Tomorrow they're looking at 6-8" new and will open the Skyliner lift as well as the Sunshine Excelerator.
Aloha and Mahalo. See you next week!
