This storm should help all southeastern Michigan ski areas.
Friday night or Saturday will be great skiing/boarding around these parts.

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

1051 AM EST THU JAN 31 2008

...HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT AND FRIDAY...

.A STORM SYSTEM DEVELOPING OVER THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI RIVER
VALLEY TODAY WILL MAKE ITS WAY NORTHEAST...REACHING NORTHWEST OHIO
ON FRIDAY. THIS STORM WILL CARRY WITH IT AN ABUNDANCE OF GULF OF MEXICO MOISTURE...AND MOST OR ALL OF THE EXPECTED PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO FALL AS SNOW. WIDESPREAD HEAVY SNOW OF SIX TO TEN INCHES IS EXPECTED ACROSS MOST OF SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN...WITH SLIGHTLY LESS AMOUNTS ACROSS THE TRI-CITIES REGION AND TOWARD THE OHIO BORDER.
 
So what did you actually get up your way? They were calling for 4"-8" here in T-Town and it looks like about 3" with some rain starting to mix in. You aren't getting any of that are you?

Thinking about heading up to Holly or Alpine this weekend. My dad got a new pair of skis he wants to get on a few times before we head out west.
 
No Rain, very little sleet in my area (I am about 30miles south of Alpine)

Friend skiing at Holly this morning said about 5" new and still snowing. Looks like maybe another 1-3 today. Should be good skiing all weekend, before Mondays rains.
