I moved here after it closed, but many of my friends & locals remember it quite well & speak of steep riding, long runs, riding fast, tree runs, etc. From the stats I found, 25 runs, 7 lifts(incl. 1 ropetow), close to 500' of vert & it says 180" a year. That snowfall isn't correct (more like 140" on avg), but it does get more snowfall than any other area in the mitt. The vert is actually about 500', most areas like fudge this, so really close to Boyne Highlands which is a hair over 500'. They have some steep runs that I have hiked/ridden that are the steepest I've seen in Michigan, to be honest, except for some cruisers, the place is pretty steep. But the owner wants $5.7mill, chairlifts need to be replaced, lodge is most likely going to be condemned, needs a new sewer/water for up to date snowmaking. You can search leelanua.com/blog for the most info about the place. It was auctioned off 3 years ago, but the woman who bought it got the loan from the original owner which is why nothing has happened. A local tried to buy it recently, but he ran into issues with the owners, the resort was in worst shape than he thought & they wanted too much money...so there it sits.
