If you have 4th grade children who ski in Michigan, do not forget about the Cold is Cool program. 4th graders ski free several places for a couple of days each. But, you do need to send away for the "passport". It takes about 3 weeks, so do it soon before the season starts. The only cost is a $15 processing charge. You can find more information at goskimichigan.com. You do not need to be a Michigan resident. I am not personally involved in this program, I just like the idea of less expensive skiing for families. They also have some other programs on the web site; they MIGHT be a good deal depending on where you ski; however they cost more.
