2.4.2010 - Carefree Peaks, arrived around 12noon and the hill was full of Petoskey, Cadillac, Reed City, Travers city ski race teams. They took over the south peak until 6pm. The skiing was still bullet proof with the lack of new snow for almost a month.
I spent the night at Caberfae Peaks lodge, 2 days skiing and 1 night stay for 1 person was $80 on a Thursday night, great deal. There is a pub located just above the ski patrol office, also there is a great ski locker room with boot dryers for 4 pairs of boots and plenty of room to change, they have a nice outdoor pool and hot tub, all lifts, lockers, pub, pools, etc, are right in front of the lodge.

2.5.2010 - started off at 10am at Caberfae Peaks to groomed runs and a temp of about 10*
Lift guy said there were 10 buses coming and about 400 kids by 12noon, so I enjoyed the area with about 20 other people for 2 hours then got the heck out of there and do the short drive to Crystal MT.

2.5.2010 part II - Crystal MT had 5 lifts for $50 on Friday, so I patrolled the lift ticket window area to find me a group, and that didn’t take very long. This was the first time I had been to Crystal MT in years, and I must say they are really building things up around there. The skiing was pretty good, lifts were busy but not that bad. They have lots of single lines so I could zip right up and get on a lift. Still bullet proof in some areas, and packed POW in others. I skied there till about 5pm and got on the road to make the 80mile drive to Petoskey.

2.6.2010 Boyne MT in the AM, Boyne Highlands in the PM
I had my Warren Miller 2 for 1 lift on me, and again was patrolling the lift ticket lines for a person to split it with. It took me 15mins to find someone!!
So I was on the lifts by 11am, skiing was good, and Boyne does a great job of grooming the area.
On my way to Boyne Highlands I always stop at Park city Grill for lunch, best food in town!
Best place to park at Boyne highlands is the area by AMY's Lift and Interconnect Lifts. You are just feet away from the lift lines, and ski right back to your car. There are no lift tickets windows here so get those first. Also good if you have a few beers to drink :) The skiing was cold, but good. They groom the hill at night, and it’s good to follow the groomers around with the conditions so hard.

2.8.2010
Arrived at Boyne MT at 10am to score a few runs before I get home. It was a little busier for a Monday as the demo teams were in town. Only skied for about 2 hours, but everything was groomed and it was sunny. I hit my Max speed of the weekend, a killer 52MPH!!!
All and All, a good trip. Now a few pictures

Great little trip around the state. Question about Crystal, is the new terrain they added a few years ago any good? I haven't been there in quite a while and was wondering what it's like.

It's funny how easy it is to find someone to split a 2 for 1 with you. I did that on a Friday at Highlands with one I had, then karma repaid me when somone was looking to split a warren miller 2 for 1 and i walked up at just the right time.

I bet there will be a lot of those 2 for 1 lifts deals around with the buy 10 or 12 GAL of gas deal thats running.
