It's helpful that James mentions exposure of some of the Portes-de-Soleil terrain. Euro ski complexes can be all over the compass rose, and when flattened on a trail map clues can be hard to come by. Google Earth is the best way to figure out exposures at any ski area, and almost essential for anyplace in the Alps you have not skied personally.
Speaking of Google Earth, it would be great if FTO's skimap.kml file (second on this download list http://www.firsttracksonline.com/ski-sn ... downloads/) were expanded outside North America. I'm willing to volunteer for this task if someone will show me how to do it.
