Can anyone give me any information about Portes du Soleil? I have an opportunity to go at the end of Feb/beginning of March 2007. How reliable is the snow at this time of year? Is the ski area as good as the maps make it look? Will I need a car, or is public transportation between the ski areas available? How do food prices compare to North American ski areas? Any information is appreciated!

Snow reliability is reputedly not the best, but it's a massive connection of areas. The major problem is likely to be base areas where you may have to download rather than ski at the end of the day. The time of year is the absolute optimum, so you should take advantage of the opportunity.
