This isn't a ski trip, but I was in the area. The next time you're in the northwest corner of Slovenia, or the northeast corner of Italy, you might want to check out this quirky resort area. Bovec on the Slovenian side, Sella Nevea on the Italian side, connected by a gondola constructed just a couple of years ago. This time of year, the snow was better on the Italian side as it faces north (or more north, anyway). At 7,000 feet in mid-April, I wasn't expecting much, but it was better than I thought it would be.
Bovec, Sovenia also offers an array of outdoor activities (rafting, canyoning, rock climbing) and is situated in a beautiful valley.
