Here are my specs for a parka/shell. Who makes it?

Gore Tex
Light but serviceable hood that tucks into collar
Lined, comfortable collar that you can turtle into
Pit zips
Snow skirt
Inside IPod pocket w/ gussets
Inside goggle pocket
2 breast pockets w/zips
2 handwarmer pockets w/zips

As some of you know I started looking in February for a replacement for the infamous 1997-vintage red jacket.

In mid-April I ended up with the Mountain Hardware Explorer 2. I also borrowed a different (slightly heavier) Mountain Hardware jacket from Admin in March while Air France was misplacing my luggage for 3 days. Mountain Hardware makes a bewildering selection of models. Most of them did have the integrated hood and multiple pocket features. For me the key issue is weight. It has to ventilate well and be comfortable on sunny California days, yet be able to seal up for wind and storms. Your criteria may be different.
