- Ruapehu had received 1.8 meters of snow in the last week
- 5cm snow overnight
- Great cover to the base by Ruapehu standards
- Bluebird day
- Mid-week
- Mountain opened progressively

= Epic first day of season

I'm guessing this is Turoa based upon morning sun and since I don't recognize anything. But I was at Whakapapa in 1982.
