I've even found that FTO crashes if I try to upload more than ~3 pictures at a time for about the last year. (then add 3 more, then 3 more, etc...). The forum software is on it's last legs for sure.
 
The pictures no longer have an individual limit, but there is probably a MB limit in terms of how much can be uploaded at one time. My pictures are taken at 4000x3000 megapixels. I cut that in half to 2000x1500 and I'm normally able to load 6-7 pictures at a time. On questionable WiFi I'll load maybe 4 pictures at a time.

Picture size has been liberalized on FTO periodically over the years. This is a subject I used to complain about; a decade ago the picture size limits were quite low and if you look at old TR's the pics are often grainy. I have no complaints about the current picture situation. I think on some other forums you still have to load one at a time.
