Eldora enters NEPA process

Postby EMSC » Sun Jul 29, 2012 8:46 pm

I've known about this for a while (since at least early July), but never got the time to write up any details for FTO. Instead I can now slack off and just let the Denver Post tell much of the story.

Basically there is not only replacement of lifts etc... but small boundary expansions. No one can claim to be surprised at the tiny local NIMBY group from the town of Eldora. I'm pretty sure that they would even protest a wildlife sanctuary opening up nearby. But that's what you get with extreme hippies living in run down shacks in the middle of a wind tunnel.

Anyway, Eldo fairly desperately needs the expansion and new lift approval for windy days that shut them down 10-15 times a season, IMHO. The public comment period has already been extended to Aug 31 for comments. You can find out more about NEPA from the NFS here: http://www.eldoraeis.com/
