Late in posting this as season has been rough . These are the current stats. The amount of snow on the ground is at 92 cm while the total amount of snow received to date is at 231 cm at a elevation of 1600' average. The big story this season is the rain as normally having a base of 3 feet is fine. The problem this year is that it rains almost every week ,soaking the snow and then temps drop freezing it up rock solid. We are once again in this pattern with frozen granular snow or ice. Natural back country trails are basically un skiable. There have only been a handful of days when there has been been powder and packed powder conditions. Have used my apline touring equipment 3 times to date as a result. More heavy rain in the forecast for tomorrow night into Wednesday ,followed by the freeze up. The pattern continues.

After a week of rain and way above average temps , the snow pack has been reduced to 68 cm. So just over two feet of snow on the ground. Skiing is on life support or should i say snow gun support. Natural ski trails (touring, x country ) are on hold and could be done if it doesn't snow again. The snow gun covered groomers live on.

After the recent rounds of snowfalls ,the Laurentian region has a overall base of 100 cm . Decent mid winter packed snow conditions.
