Old Kit wanted for Gulmarg, Kashmir, India

Postby sherpa » Fri Dec 30, 2005 5:15 pm

I travel out to India every year to a resort called Gulmarg in Kashmir. I want to try and make a shipment out there of old stuff, anything that can be put to good use, bindings, boots, clothes etc. Last year between me and a kiwi friend we took 15 boards and 30 boots and bindings. This all went free to the ski shop there (the kashmir alpine ski shop), but in future i hope to distribute it the stuff to kids and those who need it, especially after the Earthquake. If anyone has anything they do not need and may be interested to send it out with me, that would be superb. Ideally it would be of a quality you would not mind using yourself.
my email is joewyand@yahoo.co.uk

i have a website about the resort at www.himalayanpowderdreams.com
we are trying to help promote the region given its difficult past, there's loads of info there and a video i shot from last season which shows you all the powder.
and we also take groups out ourselves to Gulmarg if anyone is interested to join.

Gulmarg has recently installed a gondola to 13,000 feet. Extremely Canadian will be scouting Gulmarg in 2006 to see if they want to run World Tours there is future seasons.
