Whistler (BC), Canada - In heavy rain and bitter cold in Whistler, Alana Nichols, of Farmington, N.M., and Park City, Utah's Stephani Victor won gold and silver, respectively, in the sitting division of Tuesday's Paralympic giant slalom ski race race. With the gold medal, Nichols becomes the first female U.S. Paralympian to claim gold in both summer and winter Games. It was Victor's second silver of the 2010 Games.

Denver, CO - As the 2009-10 ski and snowboard season moves into its final two months, the most recent report released Monday by the Mountain Travel Research Program (MTRiP) revealed that as of Feb. 28, 2010, lodging occupancy surpassed last year's mark, although just barely -- 0.03 percent ahead of last season.
