This Sunday, the first 500 paid attendees at the will receive a free lift ticket to ski or snowboard at Mount Snow in West Dover, Vermont. With lift tickets for Mount Snow valued at $70 each, expo patrons will receive nearly nine times the return on the price of admission. The show opens for the day at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The Times Union Ski & Snowboard Expo offers a comprehensive look at the latest in winter sporting equipment, fashion and travel in a convenient, one-stop shopping environment at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, November 7 to 9. Featuring over 100 exhibitor booths, family friendly activities and dozens of giveaways, the 47th annual edition of the expo will provide winter sports fans with an early look at the 2008-09 winter season.
To complement the free lift to the mountain, expo organizers are "fueling" the passion for winter sports fans by partnering with Stewart’s Shops to give away 20 gas cards, valued at $25 each. Skiers and snowboarders can enter to win the gas cards at the expo throughout the weekend.
Advance discount expo admission tickets are currently available exclusively at Hannaford Supermarkets throughout the Greater Capital Region and Hudson Valley of New York, and at selected Vermont locations including Bennington, Brattleboro and Rutland. Tickets can be purchased at the customer service desks for $6 for adults, a two-dollar savings off the regular admission price.
Expo hours are: Friday, November 7 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday, November 8 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, November 9 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Admission at the gate is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 8 – 12. Kids seven and under are admitted free. Parking is available at the Empire State Plaza Visitor’s Lot (formerly known as P3-North) for $2. All drivers and each adult passenger must have a valid photo ID. If the Visitor’s Lot is full, additional parking is available for no charge in the East Garage, connected to the Empire State Plaza via walkway.
