Killington, VT - Killington trail crews are busy this summer with excavators and a backhoe to regrade some of the Vermont ski and snowboard resort's terrain and improve snowmaking installations.
Salt Lake City, UT - The sweltering dog days of summer in Utah will eventually give way to a refreshing burst of winter, and Ski Utah will kick-off their official 100 day countdown to the ski season on Aug. 7 at the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market. Ski Utah will take one dollar donations in exchange for flavorful yellow snow cones provided by Snowie to benefit Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR) avalanche dogs. Dogs will also be on hand to perform skills demonstrations and Utah ski resorts will hand out doggy bags full of swag and resort information.

Lake Wanaka, New Zealand - Winter is in full swing down in the southern hemisphere and riders from around the globe are making the journey to Lake Wanaka, New Zealand for the 2010 Burton New Zealand Open. A 5Star event on the Swatch TTR World Tour, the New Zealand Open is set to take place August 10-14, 2010 at Cardrona Alpine Resort and will feature halfpipe and slopestyle formats. This will be the second 5Star event of the 2010/11 TTR Tour season, giving riders another chance to collect some early season points before winter returns to the northern hemisphere.

Park City, UT - Earlier this month, the U.S. Men's Alpine Ski Team was sliding around on the ice rink at their summer hockey camp at the Park City Ice Arena. Squaw Valley, CA - This fall, the International Snow Science Workshop will be held from Oct. 17 through Oct. 22 at the Resort at Squaw Creek at Squaw Valley USA. The five-day symposium brings together some of the world's top snow scientists and avalanche practitioners for a merging of theory and practice, promoting the exchange of ideas and research, and introducing the latest forecasting tools and winter products at their meeting at the California ski and snowboard resort.
