- Europe's longest indoor snow slope upon opening in Dec. 2000, The Alpincenter at Bottrop in the Ruhr Valley has been built with a right-angled slope some 508m (1680 feet) long. The company operating the slope includes former world cup racer Marc Girardelli in its management team. Alpincenter incorporates magic carpet lifts and gradients of up to 24% with slopes for all ability levels.
