New Zealand's Freestyle Ski & Snowboard Resort Nearing Completion

Pisa Range, New Zealand (Monday, July 8, 2002) - The Snow Park and Snow Farm staff on the Pisa Range have been working around the clock, and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. New Zealand’s first dedicated freestyle snow resort began construction a mere 8 months ago and is very close to opening its doors to the general public.

Things are looking good. The resort in the final stages of their pre-season operations and everything is coming together well. Installation of the snowmaking facilities is complete, the T-bar is ready to go and the sound-shack is about to be moved to its permanent home on top of the resort's quarter pipe.

The resort already claims a solid base of natural snow that has been well packed. Their snow guns are now firing and are currently building the super-pipes and other features. The Snow Park will also be home to over 20 rails and boxes, which will be some of the first obstacles to be activated.

Snow Park plans to be open as soon as possible.
