'HPTV' Takes HP 50K to a Worldwide Audience

Queenstown, New Zealand (Tuesday, July 23, 2002) - The 2002 HP 50K of Coronet takes place in Queenstown on July 29-30, 2002.

Beginning at 6 p.m. local time on Monday 29, viewers around the world will be able to log on to www.hp50K.com and watch 16 hours of live, international ski action from Coronet Peak. This year, 10 international ski teams will compete through the night to raise funds for the race charity, Cure Kids.

HP New Zealand has developed a race management solution that will enable more viewers around the world to watch the race action via a live WebCast, on "HPTV". With a variety of video streams (34-300kbps) targeted at a range of Internet connection devices (56K, ISDN, Broadband, ADSL), better footage, guest commentators and New Zealand background music, the event will be watched live by more people than ever before.
