American Airlines Will Continue Daily Chicago Service to Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole, WY (Tuesday, July 23, 2002) - Jackson Hole Airservice Improvement Resources (JH AIR) announced late last week that American Airlines have decided to continue daily jet service to Jackson Hole from Chicago for Winter 2002-03. In addition to this service announcement American Airlines will fly without a minimum revenue guarantee.
"This announcement speaks to the confidence in our market by American Airlines. This is strictly a business decision on their part, as JH AIR had previously decided to not enter a one year contract with a minimum revenue guarantee clause," commented Mike Gierau, Co-Chair, JH AIR.
"We now face an incredible prospect. Jackson Hole will have five major carriers this winter. Non stop dailies from seven hubs via United, Delta, American, Northwest and Continental Airlines. It is now time to ensure we have the appropriate capacity to meet demand and my colleagues on the JH AIR Board and the JH Airport are currently working diligently with the airlines to ensure these flights are a success. We expect to see some schedule changes and hope competition will allow for better fares into and out of Jackson Hole. However it is even more critical that local business works in a cohesive fashion to a) support the contract air service, and b) market the entire service," Gierau added.
