Celebrate Super Bowl Sunday at Resorts Across America
(Thursday, January 23, 2003) - While die-hard football fans stay home to watch the big game this Sunday, skiers and snowboarders in the know will be hitting the slopes left relatively empty as a result. Numerous ski areas across the United States are offering special deals and events tied to the Raiders/Buccaneers match-up to lure visitors back to the mountains.
Jay Peak in northern Vermont is setting up big-screen TVs for watching the game, and is offering a weekend lift/lodging special to convince you to watch the game in Vermont. $99 per person plus tax in the Hotel Jay includes two days of lifts, one breakfast, and Sunday night to sleep off the game party before heading home on Monday. The price increases to $149 per person to stay in the resort's slopeside condos instead.
Wear any NFL logo wear to the ticket booth at Pats Peak in southern New Hampshire and take $10 off an all mountain, all day lift ticket and $5 off an all mountain, all day lift ticket for Juniors/Seniors. A Budweiser Super Bowl Party with a live band, the McMurphys, will start at 3pm. Watch the game in the Sled Pub on Pats Peak's two wide screen TV's and enjoy free appetizers at half time.
At Devil's Head, Wisconsin, enjoy free hors d'oeuvres and drink specials while you watch the big game in the resort's tavern. Party hard while you root for your favorite team and then crash at Devil's Head on Sunday night for only $50.00. That's cheaper than a cab home! If you'd rather make a weekend out of it, stay Friday and/or Saturday Night, January 24th and 25th, 2003 for $99.00 per night. You can get up to five in a room, so that's only $20.00 per head!
