Jackson Hole Gets Over 4 Feet in Past Week
Jackson Hole, WY (Wednesday, January 29, 2003) - Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is enjoying some of the best snow in North America. In the past week, JHMR has received 50 inches of snow, bringing the cumulative total to 258 inches, with summit and mid mountain depths of 75 and 71 inches, respectively.
By comparison, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort reports 182 inches of snowfall this season with a mid mountain depth of 58 inches. Vail reports a 48 inch base at the summit, 37" mid mountain, and 201.5 inches cumulative. Steamboat comes in with 56 inches at the summit and 176 inches season to date snowfall. In the West, precipitation glutton Mammoth Mountain reports 188 inches so far this season
"Teton County residents always celebrate living in such a spectacular place. Now we can celebrate our deep snowpack as well!" said Director of Communications Anna Olson.
Upcoming events such as the Cowboy Ski Challenge and Wyoming Stage Stop Sled Dog Race this weekend will especially benefit from the new snow.
