New Additions Enhance Beginner's Experience at Wisp

McHenry, MD (Tuesday, May 20, 2003) - Learning to ski or board will be even easier during the 2003/2004 ski season at Wisp at Deep Creek Mountain Resort. Along with the addition of the ski carpet, visitors will find two new triple chairs at Chairs 2 & 3 and the Wisp “Get On Board” Season Pass.

Beginners will enjoy the ease and convenience of the new ski carpet. The moving walkway replaces the existing rope tow currently at Belly Flop.

The newest triple chairs at Wisp will replace the existing doubles at Chairs 2 & 3, which increase the two lifts’ capacity by over 50%. Beginners will benefit from the lower top and mid-station unloading ramps and the ability to vary lift speed for easier loading and unloading.

“Our newest triple chairs and ski carpet are considered a giant step in establishing Wisp as a great resort for beginner skiers and riders," says Hank Thiess, General Manager at Wisp at Deep Creek Mountain Resort. “We are truly excited about the experience our guests will have with these new additions.”

Along with these additions comes the new Wisp “Get On Board” Season Pass. For $249, first-time skiers and boarders receive an unlimited season pass upon the completion of three lessons with the resort's certified instructors. Three rentals are included in the pass purchase price.

All 2003/2004 Wisp Season Passes will be available for purchase at Wisp beginning Friday, May 23.
