Utah's Lift-served Ski and Snowboard Season Ends Monday
Snowbird, UT (Wednesday, May 21, 2003) - Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, will signal the close of resort skiing in Utah with the last day of skiing and riding at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort. Utah's only resort still open for skiing and riding, Snowbird will run the lifts for the final weekend of spring skiing, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 24-26. Already gearing up for the excitement of next winter, season passes for the 2003-04 season go on sale June 1 with many "Early Bird Freebies."
"Despite the unusual weather patterns of the past winter, Snowbird had a long and successful season with skiing and riding through Memorial Day," said Snowbird President Bob Bonar.
Skiing and riding at Snowbird, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 24-26, is $25/day and is open 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Park in lower Gad Valley lot and take the Gadzoom high-speed quad to Little Cloud chairlift, accessing Little Cloud Bowl, Regulator and backcountry.
Snowbird's late-season skiing and snowboarding is not for beginners. Only advanced terrain is available from the Little Cloud chairlift.
Snowbird's season passes go on sale June 1. Snowbird will offer a free one-night stay at the Cliff Lodge, a free summer season Tram pass, a free Mountain School lesson, a free one-month membership at the Snowbird Canyon Racquet & Fitness Club and discount coupons to skiers and snowboarders who purchase 2003-04 season passes by July 31, 2003.
