RCR Kokanee Snowboard Series Stops at Nakiska

Calgary, Canada (Wednesday, January 21, 2004) - The RCR Kokanee Snowboard series is making its first stop of the season at Nakiska on January 24th for the Slopestyle competition followed by the Halfpipe competition on January 25th. See Snowboarders in action when they hit the park and halfpipe at Nakiska Resort in pursuit of cash prizes, all in a fun and challenging setting. Competition categories include: Novice (13 and under), Junior Women (14-17), Senior Women (18 +), Junior Men (14-17) and Senior Men (18+).

“The RCR and Kokanee Snowboard Series is an unique series of events hitting our resorts over the next four months,” says Matt Mosteller, Senior Director of Business Development for Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. “We are anticipating some fantastic competitors that you will not want to miss,” added Mosteller.

Mosteller says that Resorts of the Canadian Rockies is proud of its commitment and tradition in hosting the longest consecutively run series of snowboard events in Canada.

Registration for each event is CAN$30 with online registration available at www.skircr.com. Registration does not include lift passes or the ASA Membership required by all riders.

Watch out for the next events in this series: Boardercross at Lake Louise on January 31st, Halfpipe at Lake Louise on February 1st, and Big Air at Fernie on March 14th and Lake Louise on April 4th.
