Vernon, NJ (Friday, January 23, 2004) - Catch some of the area’s top amateur riders this weekend during the Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series at Vernon's Mountain Creek Resort. Boarders will show off their best tricks on Saturday in the slopestyle competition, and then strut their stuff in the Superpipe competition on Sunday.

The Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series competitions are open to all ages and abilities with a $20 entry fee for season pass holders (all others must also buy a lift ticket). Riders are judged by age group to increase the level of competition. USASA membership is required and may be obtained during registration at 7:30am both days in the Mountain Express restaurant at the Vernon base lodge. The Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series championship will be held at Mountain Creek on February 28-29.

Also this weekend, on Saturday the first of three New Music Sessions takes place at Mountain Creek. "Wakefield" featuring Good Charlotte's drummer and Jersey’s own "Midtown" will rock the Vernon Base Snow Stage starting at 1:30. Admission is free.

Are you still up for more? Join Z100’s Niko for the “Midnight Ski Party” on Saturday night. The slopes are open 'till midnight at South, and the party will be rockin' at Moguls from 9:00pm - 2:00am. Bring an old jacket to donate to charity and admission is free. You must be 21 to enter.

Mountain Creek Reaches the Airwaves
MTV's new show, "Boiling Points" filmed a bunch of program segments at Mountain Creek a couple of weeks back. Check it out this Friday at 4:30pm EST on MTV.

Mountain Creek will also be the backdrop for a feature story on the ski industry and Intrawest for CNNfn's "Money Gang" and "Your Money", which will broadcast live from the mountain from 1-3pm and 5-6pm, and there will be various segments live from the Mountain on CNN, Headline News and CNNfn throughout the day.
