Cranmore to Host 27th Annual Race To Beat Cancer

North Conway, NH (Sunday, January 25, 2004) - Cranmore Mountain Resort will be hosting the American Cancer Society’s 27th Annual Race to Beat Cancer on Sunday, February 8, 2004. The race is a fundraiser dedicated to cancer survivors past, present and future. The proceeds will help fund research and education to help battle cancer.

“This is a unique event to the Mount Washington Valley and a fun way to raise money to help fight cancer,” said Leslie Schomaker of the American Cancer Society. “Last year, approximately 140 racers entered and raised around $20,000.”

The Race to Beat Cancer will be a fun day of skiing and riding for all ages and abilities in a NASTAR race format. Participants must make a minimum contribution of $30 and will receive an all-day lift ticket. Prizes will be awarded for raising the most money and trophies for the best race times on the course. Non-racers can also participate by sponsoring a racer.

Registration is from 8:30am to 9:45am at the North Base Lodge. The race starts at 10:00am and the awards ceremony will be held at 1:00pm.
