SBX Postponed at Winter X

Aspen, CO (Sunday, January 25, 2004) - Heavy Rocky Mountain snow hampered visibility and made for “slippery conditions” Sunday, forcing X Games organizers to postpone both men’s and women’s snowboard cross. The events are rescheduled for Monday morning with frontrunners Lindsey Jacobellis (Bondville, VT), older brother Ben (also Bondville) and Carrabassett Valley Academy grad Seth Wescott (Farmington, ME) representing U.S. Snowboarding in the gate.

Jacobellis is the reigning women’s champ, while her bro recently scored his first World Cup podium with a January 16 second place finish in Arosa, Switzerland, despite suffering a deep cut on his left leg at the start of the race. Finishing fourth in the same race was Wescott, silver medalist at both the ’03 World Championships and the ’02 X Games.
