Gore Mountain Again Hosts 'Take Your Daughter to the Snow Week'

North Creek, NY (Monday, January 26, 2004) - Despite the demise of the nationally-santioned event, daughters 19 and under will ski, ride, and tube free at Gore Mountain with a full-paying parent from January 26- February 1. Season passholders and people using Snow Sampler 4-Packs are welcome to participate in this special offer.

Parents and daughters are encouraged to compete in the Family Fun Dual Slalom on February 1, where best combined times will earn excellent prizes from Beaver Brook Outfitters of Wevertown. The event will be on the “Twin Fawns” NASTAR course at 11AM, with registration taking place from 8:30-10:30. There is a registration fee of $5 per team.

The goal of “Take Your Daughter to the Snow Week” is to encourage women to participate in winter sports, with a focus on family activities and an emphasis towards first-time snow experiences. Winter sports include alpine, telemark, and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing, all activities offered at Gore Mountain.

“Take Your Daughter to the Snow Week” will be followed by a “For Women Only” ski clinic February 7-8. These clinics are taught by specially trained female instructors and designed to help intermediate and advanced skiers build their skills and add to their fun and confidence in an uncompetitive environment. Interested participants are asked to make reservations.

This specially designated week comes after Gore Mountain’s 40th Anniversary Celebration Weekend, which included fireworks, live entertainment, a guided tour to the North Creek Ski Bowl, and the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge.
