Bus Connects Banff Guests to Nakiska and Fortress
Calgary, Canada (Wednesday, January 28, 2004) - Resorts of the Canadian Rockies has announced the Nakiska and Fortress Ski Bus, connecting guests staying in the Banff and Canmore area two two more Alberta ski areas via a day bus. Operating every Friday throughout the season, the ski bus will pick up from most hotels in Banff and the Wendy’s/Esso Station in Canmore. 24-hour advance reservation is required for Friday pick-ups for Canmore hotels.
Nakiska, the Olympic mountain located 90 kilometers west of Calgary in Kananaskis Country, remains Western Canada’s premier race center. A CAN$100,000 purchase of snowmaking nozzles and electrical upgrades increased the snowmaking output by 40% for this winter.
Fortress Mountain Ski Area is located in the Kananaskis Valley, on the edge of the Alberta Rocky Mountains.
“Extend the enjoyment of your day skiing and riding by being comfortably driven to the mountains,” says Matt Mosteller Senior Director for Business Development with Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. “ This service makes it easy for both locals and visitors to enjoy a day out at Nakiska and Fortress,” added Mosteller.
Lift ticket and transportation is priced at CAN$59 per adult, CAN$47 for a youth, and CAN$32 for a child. Transportation only is CAN$16 for an adult, CAN$11 for a youth or child. All prices are round-trip fares that do not include GST.
