Brundage Mountain Visits Set 43-Year Record
McCall, ID (Wednesday, May 5, 2004) - Brundage Mountain Resort recorded the most skier visits in it's 43 year history during the 2003/2004 winter season. (A skier visit is one person skiing one day.) Skier visits were up 7 percent this season to reach 122,430 total. Brundage President Judd DeBoer noted that this is the third year in a row the resort has set new skier visit records.
Resort officials noted last year that the skier visit record of 114,099 was most likely due to the fact that Brundage Mountain enjoyed abundant snowfall while other resorts recorded low levels of snowfall. This year, the snow came early and was plentiful at most resorts. When asked why Brundage Mountain's visits were still increasing, President Judd DeBoer said, "We believe there is increased recognition of Brundage as a very pleasant place to ski due to its abundant terrain, great snow, and friendly people which provide the combination to keep our numbers growing most every year".
Brundage's Season Pass sales through April 15th were about even with last year's sales during the same time period. Until May 31st, Brundage Mountain Season Passes are priced at $299, up $80 from the early sale price 0f $219. DeBoer said the resort expects more season pass sales during that time, especially since the passes may be used all summer for lift-served mountain biking and scenic chairlift rides.
Although the addition of new lifts or other improvements is pending financing by the lending institutions, Brundage has already commenced the cutting of new runs for the coming season. DeBoer said that by logging over the snow, they are able to minimize any ground damage.
