Dave Murray Summer Ski and Snowboard Camp Celebrates 30 years of Operation

Whistler (BC), Canada (Sunday, May 9, 2004) - The Dave Murray Summer Ski and Snowboard Camp carries on the tradition started more than 30 years ago on Whistler Glacier by Ski Champion Toni Sailer. Dave Murray, an Olympian and World Cup competitor, took over operations of the camp in 1977 after seeing the benefits in utilizing World Cup, Olympic and National level coaches when he worked in the camp as a coach himself. Dave passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. To honor his memory, Greg Daniells and Christian Saxvik continue to offer the same unique summer camp experience and high quality at the now world famous Whistler resort.

In celebration, Daniells and Saxvik have made the terrain park bigger and better than ever with a private Super Pipe, new rails, and beginner to advanced table-tops. As the ski industry continues to change and expand, the camp has also adapted and has been busy growing both the twin-tip freestyle ski and snowboard programs. This years coaching lineup includes such industry favorites as Rex Thomas, Mauro Nunez and Chris Winter for skiing, as well as Donny Ellis for snowboarding. Bigger numbers are expected as the camp continues to provide a fun, progressive learning environment, and continues Dave Murray’s legacy.
