Mammoth to Close June 6
Mammoth Mountain, CA (Thursday, May 27, 2004) - After a season with 182 days of skiing and riding, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area will close winter operations after Sunday, June 6.
Once again, Mammoth Mountain enjoyed one of the longest ski seasons in the United States, staying open from November 6, 2003 to June 6, 2004. During the 2003/2004 winter season, Mammoth received over 435 inches of snow, the most in the last five years. Heavy snowfall in December dumped over 12 feet of snow of Mammoth.
Through June 6, Mammoth will have four lifts open (Broadway Express, Facelift and the Lower and Upper Panorama Gondola) providing access top to bottom at the Main Lodge. The base depth is currently one to five feet of machine groomed and spring snow.
After a short break in the action, Mammoth will re-open for summer activities. The Mountain Bike Park and Adventure Center will begin summer operations on Friday, June 25.
