Winter at Mont-Sainte-Anne Ends on Positive Note

Beaupré (QC), Canada (Tuesday, May 3, 2005) - After 161 days of skiing and snowboarding, one of the longest seasons in all Eastern Canada, Mont-Sainte-Anne is now getting ready to shift gears to its summer activities. The 2004/2005 season ended this past Sunday, May 1st on a positive note with a total snowfall for the winter of 511 centimeters (201 inches), representing over 100 cm more than the annual average recorded at Mont-Sainte-Anne in the last decade. Aided by a new snowmaking system this winter, Mont-Sainte-Anne has registered an increase in destination visitors this season of more than 10%. Mont-Sainte-Anne Cross-Country Center, which offers the largest Nordic ski trail network in Canada, also registered an increase in visitation of more than 10%.

The Canadian Alpine Championships put the spotlight on Mont-Sainte-Anne's snowmaking and grooming efforts this season. The return of the 24 Hours of Le Mont, the late-season Volkswagen Spring Madness and the KDX Tour rounded out a full calendar of events this season at the Québec resort.
