Bretton Woods, NH (Wednesday, May 11, 2005) - For the third year in a row, New Hampshire ski and snowboard resort Bretton Woods has broken the record for the longest running ski season in the state. Skiers and snowboarders anxious to take the first turns of the season were able to do so starting November 10, 2004. On May 11, 2005, 183 days later, two trails provided several die-hard skiers with their final turns of the season.

“We are now offering consistently high quality skiing and riding to our loyal customers for a full six months of the year,” says Bretton Woods Director of Operations Chris Ellms. The previous record for the longest ski season in New Hampshire was 178 days, achieved by Bretton Woods in 2004, which had broken the previous record of 177 days in 2003 at Bretton Woods.

With the conclusion of skiing and riding, plans are already underway for improvements to Bretton Woods Mountain Resort for the 2005/2006 ski season. Snowmaking capabilities continue to be a focus, as crews are continuing to work on the development of Lake Caroline, a body of water that will be used for snowmaking as well as a recreational area.
