Snowboarding Breast Cancer Fundraiser at Snoqualmie
Snoqualmie Pass, WA (Friday, February 10, 2006) - Mamafest, an organization focused on raising breast cancer awareness and education in the local community, has announced its 6th annual snowboarding and music festival for Saturday, Mar. 11, at The Summit at Snoqualmie West, sponsored by K2 Snowboarding and The Summit at Snoqualmie.
Expected to reach more than 4,000 people, Mamafest offers a day filled with activities, all in the name of raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Educational booths, demos, raffles and the Mamajam slopestyle are just a few of the things happening that day. To top it all off, Mamafest 2006 will feature local music from Mon Frere (winners of the Experience Music Project’s Sound Off Competition 2005), Speaker Speaker, and The Hollow Points, along with local DJs.
Mamafest has snowboarding, skiing, live music, libations and lots of girls in bikini tops to show everyone what the cause is fighting for. Slopestyle registration begins at 9 a.m., equipment demos start at 10:00. Live music takes place all day, leading up to an afterparty beginning at 5 p.m.
Mamafest, in partnership with K2 and The Summit at Snoqualmie, hopes to raise over $30,000 through individual pledges, sponsorships and donations to help support the University of Washington Cancer Genetics Clinic and other local breast cancer organizations. If you’re interested in getting involved, visit Mamafest online at www.mamafest.org to start raising money and for the chance to win one of three snowboards donated by Ride Snowboards, the pledge drive sponsor.
