Brundage Mountain Extends Ski Season

McCall, ID (Thursday, March 23, 2006) - Idaho's Brundage Mountain Resort has announced that it plans to extend daily ski and snowboard operations through Easter Sunday, April 16th.

Traditionally, the resort closes down after the second Sunday in April, but thanks to nearly 30 feet of total snowfall already this season, skiers and riders will enjoy an extra week of operations.

“Last year at this time, we had less than 70 inches of snow at the summit. Right now, we have 145 inches,” said resort spokesperson, April Russell. “Unless Mother Nature pulls a real fast one on us, we should be in strong shape for that extra week.”

And, if Mother Nature continues to cooperate, Brundage Mountain will also add two bonus weekends, operating Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23 and April 29-30.

“We’ve had so much great skiing up here this winter, we just don’t want it to end,” said Russell. “And we’re hoping to spark even more interest in spring skiing by having our season pass holders share the fun with their friends.”

Brundage Mountain Season Pass Holders can each bring a friend for free each day Saturday, April 1 through Friday, April 7. Pass holders just need to bring their valid season pass and their guest to the ticket window, and the guest will receive a free lift ticket for that day. This offer is not valid with any other offers or discounts.

Visitors can expect all the regular services during the extended season that they’ve come to count on during the winter. The extended season will not change the resort’s plans for a big Spring Fling in early April:

Saturday, April 8th – Slopestyle, “Brundage-style”
Come one, come all to the competition that’s more about throwing out the fashion rules than throwing down big air. Points are awarded not only for twists and tricks, but for twisted and tricked out costumes, too. All ages and abilities are welcome, with prizes awarded for whatever Brundage's illustrious panel of judges is in the mood for.

Sunday, April 9th – 1st Annual Brundage Mountain Marathon
Everyone’s welcome to race in this 65-gate Giant Slalom run from the top of Temptation to the bottom. Skiers, boarders, telemarkers and even folks brave enough to take a spin on a ski bike from Brundage's rental shop can compete. $15 for adults and $10 for children with all proceeds going to the McCall Ski Racing Team.
