Ski Show Promoter Goes to the Mall
Waltham, MA (Thursday, July 6, 2006) - Two new mall Snowfests in New England and the New England Youth Sports Festival have been added to the ski and snowboard show calendar of popular BEWI Productions sports expos that has long included four well-established annual SnowSports Expos staged in exhibition halls in Denver, Portland (OR), Seattle and Boston.
The NorthShore SnowFest, Oct. 13-15 at NorthShore Mall in Peabody, Mass., and the Connecticut SnowFest, Oct. 20-22, at Westfarms Mall in Farmington, Conn., will bring mountain resorts and winter travel sellers directly to these important metro markets.
"There is a high percentage of snowsports enthusiasts in both of these markets," points out BEWI Production president Bernie Weichsel, "and bringing winter sales and entertainment opportunities directly to where our customers congregate close to home provide a great entertainment, informational and sales event." The BEWI SnowSports Expos attract dozens of ski and snowboard resort, snowsports equipment, clothing and accessories providers plus companies that provide lifestyle and health products geared towards the wintersports market, from automobiles to entertainment and fitness. The four established SnowSports Expos are expected to draw over 125,000 winter sports and vacation buyers to the four major metro markets for the three- and four-day events. "These are highly active skiers and riders who participate frequently in the sports they enjoy," said Weichsel. Each Expo features an on-site major retail sale of snowsports gear and clothing plus resort exhibits, lift ticket and season pass sales specials, giveaways and contests throughout the vast Expo halls. In addition to the support of a major regional retailer, Weichsel's SnowSports Expos and the new SnowFests generate a lot of media attention created through their partnership with leading newspapers, TV and radio stations for weeks leading up to and during each event. "The media know the Expos are the best place to get all their pre-season snowsports stories. What's new at the resorts, the latest equipment trends, the excitement of colorful personalities to showcase, and these stories get aired throughout Expo week in these major markets," said Weichsel. "The talk here is snowsports, at all levels, from beginners to experts. There are interactive exhibits, informative displays, experts on hand to answer all kinds of questions from vacation travel to how to get started skiing or snowboarding," Weichsel explains. He has been producing such shows across the country for more than 25 years now.
BEWI ANNOUNCES NEW YOUTH SPORTS FESTIVAL SET FOR MARCH 2007 Weichsel announced last month that BEWI Productions is embarking on a new venture, the New England Youth Sports Festival, an entirely new sports promotional event. Set for March 23-25, 2007, this educational and hands-on event has the backing of many local, regional and national sports governing bodies as well as its host facility, the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., home of the New England Patriots NFL football team and The New England Revolution professional soccer team. Weichsel is finalizing the Youth Sports Festival's key elements now and expects to announce more exhibitor details shortly.
