Financial Results Positive for European Ski Resort Operator

Boulogne Billancourt, France (Thursday, August 3, 2006) - Compagnie des Alpes (CDA), the operator of ski and snowboard resorts and leisure parks across Western Europe, has announced its third quarter financial results for fiscal year 2005-06. At the end of the third quarter, consolidated sales for Compagnie des Alpes Group amounted to €329.5 million, or an increase of 15.4% on a real basis. On a like-for-like scope, sales grew by 5.1%.

Ski area sales jumped by 11.5% on a real basis, thanks particularly to the company's integration of the Serre Chevalier ski resort in France. On a comparable basis year-to-year the increase was 4.5%. The end of the winter season showed clear progression over 2005 (+49% over Q3), due primarily to the Easter weekend and school vacation calendar (which was in March in 2005 and in April in 2006). 11.3 million skier-days were recorded across the company's resorts, a 1.4% increase over the previous season. Average per-visitor receipts were up by 3.1%. Sales at the company's non-skiing leisure parks leapt by 31% on a real scope.

For the last fiscal year, ending September 30, 2005, CDA sales were €375 m, and net attributable income €27 m. CDA now operates 35 leisure sites, including 14 ski areas located in the Alps. These include Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Les Menuires, Méribel, Tignes, Le Grand Massif, Peisey Vallandry, and Chamonix in France; Courmayeur in Italy; and Verbier, Saas Fee and Aletch in Switzerland..
