Eden, UT - Utah's Powder Mountain ski area is declaring the official start of Spring Skiing Season with the switch to Daylight Savings Time today. March and April generally bring some of the bigger snowstorms of the season to the Wasatch Mountains, but the sunshine and soft snow changes the attitude of guests from serious skiers to beachcombers on the slopes.

Snowbird, UT - For the first time in the history of the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour (FWT), Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort will host the final stop of the tour on the Utah ski area's famed Silver Fox and North Baldy venues. An international field of the world's best skiers will descend upon the Wasatch Mountains next week, March 16-21, to battle for overall World Tour points and for the Subaru Freeskiing World Championships title.

Denver, CO - SnowSports Industries America (SIA) is reporting a six-year attendance high for its annual Snow Show recently held for the first time at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Jan. 28-31, 2010. The sold-out Snow Show attracted 18,932 attendees and featured over 3,100 booths representing 845 snow sports brands, including 125 new exhibitors.

Tignes, France - Switzerland's Iouri Podladtchikov returned from Winter X Games 14 in Aspen, Colo., with a silver medal, a fourth place finish from the Olympics in Vancouver, and can now add gold to that list from his win Friday in men's Snowboard SuperPipe at Winter X Games Europe. France's Mathieu Crepel, who finished tenth at the Vancouver Olympics, was close behind to land the silver, with Bellefontaine, Ohio's Louie Vito taking third.

Caitlin Ciccone, of Littleton, N.H., finished 19th to post her best career result as Kelsey Serwa won to lead a Canadian sweep of the women's podium.

Aspen, CO - Four-time Winter X Games medalist, Jen Hudak, won her first X Games gold last month in her hometown of Aspen, Colo., in Women's Skiing SuperPipe. Competing with a full international field in Tignes on Friday, Hudak led the pack from her first run through her third run at the inaugural Winter X Games Europe. She was unstoppable.
