Railway to Support Canadian Alpine Ski Teams Beyond 2010

Calgary, Canada – Canadian Pacific Railway Limited is extending its support of the Canadian national alpine ski team and World Cup ski races in Canada, the governing body for ski racing announced this week.nA longtime partner of Canada’s Alpine Ski Teams, Canadian Pacific (CP) has been a Summit Level sponsor since 2008. CP is also the title sponsor of the awards ceremonies in Lake Louise, Alberta, as part of the new three-year partnership announcement.

“Canadian Pacific is proud to support the goals of Canada’s able-bodied and para-alpine ski racers, keeping them ‘on track’ in pursuit of their goals well beyond 2010,” said Canadian Pacific’s General Manager, Corporate Communications Mark Seland.

“The 2010 Olympic Winter Games have galvanized the entire nation behind amateur sport. Canadian Pacific’s decision to support alpine ski racing well beyond 2010 demonstrates their commitment to ensuring that these inspiring athletes continue to have the resources required to pursue their goal of reaching the podium at the highest levels of competition,” said Alpine Canada Alpin Chief Athletic Officer, Max Gartner.

“Canadian Pacific is showing tremendous leadership as we build on the momentum of 2010 and continue to grow the sport of ski racing in Canada,” Gartner added.
