Perisher Opening Friday for Ski Season

Perisher Valley (NSW), Australia – Winter has arrived in Australia’s Snowy Mountains, and Perisher is celebrating by opening for the 2011 ski and snowboard season on Friday, June 10. Fresh snow has fallen to 24cm over the past three days, and 141 snow guns have been in operation since May 10.

Resort officials will be opening two lifts on Front Valley on Friday, and six lifts over the weekend, including the Village 8 and Perisher Express Quad to Mid-Station. One-day lift tickets will be priced at AUD$60 for adults and AUD$33 for children on Friday, and AUD$80 for adults and AUD$44 for children on Saturday or Sunday. Multi-day tickets and tickets with round-trip Skitube fare are also available. All lift tickets include parks fees.

The 2011 Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music Festival will take place at the resort throughout the June Long Weekend.
