Ski Mountaineering Race March 18 at Kimberley

Kimberley (BC), Canada – Boulder Hut Adventures and Kimberley Alpine Resort will present their 2nd Annual Ski Mountaineering Race, The Northstar Ski Mo 2017, on Saturday, March 18th.

A Poker Run format and obstacle course will be new for the 2017 edition, adding a few twists to last year’s race. The race will start in the Kimberley Alpine Resort Plaza, following the skin track up to Kootenay Haus before racing through the gates back down to the Plaza, collecting cards at stations en route. To complete the final card of the poker hand, participants will complete the obstacle course in the plaza.

The atmosphere of the race is designed to be extremely friendly and a great way to be introduced to the sport of ski mountaineering. Dress-up attire is encouraged as there will be bonus prizes for the best costume. Kids can have a chance at the Ski Obstacle Course at 2 p.m.  Boulder Hut Adventures has donated a half-week trip in 2018 for a drawing among everyone who completes the race within two hours, a prize worth C$1,695.
